World Restart a Heart Day

Details

As many of you can see this is a very busy time for the Gibraltar Cardiac Association.

Next up in our schedule is WORLD RESTART A HEART DAY

As some will have unfortunately experienced, cardiac arrests have not stopped during the coronavirus pandemic.

If someone has an out-of-hospital cardiac arrest you have a very small window to effectively assist this person. The Gibraltar Cardiac Association would like to create awareness, ensure the general public can perform CPR and use a defibrillator.

We want to make sure that as many people as possible know that when someone collapses and stops breathing normally, it is important to quickly call 190, perform hands-only CPR and use a defibrillator. This gives mums, dads, sons, daughters, neighbours, colleagues and friends the best chance of surviving.

It is imperative for people to remember to Call, to Push and to Shock. Remember "two hands may save a life!"

Christian Eriksen’s collapse from a cardiac arrest during Denmark’s opening game of the Euro 2020 highlights the importance of CPR, defibrillator use and of acting very quickly to save a life.

Please wear a football shirt on FOOTBALL SHIRT MONDAY (Monday 18th October 2021) to create awareness!
