“Hello my name is Louise Doolan and I am 9 years old. Last year during lockdown my grandad John had a heart attack and had to go to Spain to have something called stents put in his heart to make it work better. That same day my grandad Anthony was told his heart was really bad and had to go UK to have a very big operation, he was gone a very long time, this made me really sad because I couldn't be with him because of covid.
One day I was thinking how I could help people like them in Gibraltar , I went on my mums Facebook and saw the Gibraltar Cardiac Association and I decided I wanted to help them. I decided to raise funds for them, so that they could help people like my grandads. I wasn't sure what to do but after doing researching I decided to do the Med Steps, because exercise Is good for the heart. I really hate sports, but to do charity and ask for money you have to sacrifice yourself, and doing med steps is a very big sacrifice for me.
I have spend the summer making friendship bracelets with my friends and selling them, my dad also helped me print and laminate bookmarks and sold them to encourage reading which is my passion, I sold all my toys also to raise money and I finally have being going around houses with my friends asking for donations. I hope to raise £1000.”
